Summer 2026

I am feeling energized after my honey and I's vacation to the Caribbean,  and excited to get back to work and play music through the Summer of 2026! Thinking about our nation celebrating it's 250th birthday makes me a little sentimental about this year. Sometimes it seems amazing that we have made it 250 years, especially when the country is so divided politically. I think a lot about how much I enjoyed teaching US History and Civics to middle school and high school students,  and I even consider going back into teaching often, being that education is so important. I felt the weight of the responsibility everyday in the classroom, but teaching is often very rewarding as well. Out in the middle of the Caribbean last week, I ran into a former student on the cruise ship who said that I inspired her to speak publicly. Such a great feeling to hear those words. I especially enjoyed teaching about how our country won it's freedom,  and how our ancestors overcame overwhelming odds to do so. As we celebrate 250 years, history is a great reminder of what we can accomplish together. One of the reasons I love playing music so much is because music brings people together.  A great song is a great song, and I love finding that tune that will bring joy, or a wonderful memory, or will make you want to dance, or chat up someone you don't know, or make new friends,  as well as bond with those you are with. & I plan to continue to do that as long as I can. It's so great when you hear folks singing along, or seeing people meet and become friends before your very eyes while you play a song they love. I feel very lucky and hopeful when I get to experience all of these moments.
